Our family has been rooted in Rheinhessen since 1725. Across generations, we have combined a passion for viticulture with a deep connection to our homeland.
Our vines grow in 193 vineyards spread across eleven municipalities in Rheinhessen. The diversity of soils, sites, and climatic conditions shapes the unmistakable character of our wines.
With 32 grape varieties, we combine proven winemaking tradition with new ideas. In addition to classic varieties, we also focus on innovative, fungus-resistant varieties and continuously develop our portfolio.

At Weingut Barth, founded in 1725 in Lonsheim near Alzey (Rhineland-Palatinate), commitment to quality and service, as well as attention to detail, come first. The grapes for our excellent and award-winning white wines, red wines, rosé wines, seccos, and sparkling wine specialties grow on the sun-drenched slopes of Rheinhessen, Germany’s largest wine-growing region.
One of our guiding principles is the terroir concept: we cultivate each grape variety on suitable soil. That’s why we manage vineyards in eleven municipalities. These include first-class sites in Alzey, Flonheim, Framersheim, Gau-Odernheim, Bermersheim vor der Höhe (the birthplace of Saint Hildegard), and Lonsheim. This makes us one of the top wineries in Rheinhessen.
